Srinagar, Jul 01 (KNO): Doctors, described as the true warriors combating the challenges akin to a pandemic every day, urge the public to support their efforts, citing their relentless dedication amid adversity. Speaking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director SKIMS, Dr Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, highlighted the resilience of doctors who confront various epidemics daily. He hailed their unwavering commitment, even risking their lives and enduring personal sacrifices in hospitals during the Covid-19 crisis. "Every day in the emergency ward feels like dealing with a Covid-19-like situation, yet our doctors remain tirelessly dedicated to easing patients' suffering," he noted, advising doctors to maintain unwavering focus to earn trust consistently. Doctor's Day, Prof Ganie remarked, serves as a poignant reminder to honour the selfless dedication and immense contributions of medical professionals." He highlighted SKIMS's global impact in healthcare and pledged to enhance staff well-being through improved recreational facilities and special awards recognizing exemplary service. Dr Naveed Nazir, a noted pulmonologist, underscored doctors' role beyond treatment, promoting overall well-being and emphasizing trust-building with patients. He stressed the significance of early diagnosis and technology's role in healthcare, urging public awareness for prompt treatment. Prof Ruby Reshi, Principal at GMC Baramulla, extended gratitude to doctors and future healthcare professionals for their dedication and compassion, urging them to uphold medical standards and serve communities with excellence. Dr Mufti Mahmood, a urologist, termed Doctor's Day as a tribute to medical professionals' selfless service and dedication to national health. Renowned surgeon Prof Iqbal Saleem Mir highlighted the ongoing journey towards universal health and reminded patients of doctors' limitations, despite their commitment to handling complex medical challenges.
